The inside story
With Rob Manning
Rob, what are your views on ART x SOCIAL MEDIA?
Social media has bought a massive transformation in the way we perceive the visual arts and the world around us.
Is it a change for the better or for the worse?
Totally changed for the better, it has brought the Arts to an ever expanding global audience. It has profoundly changed the way we live, how we decorate our houses, how we dress, perceive and express ourselves. It is a very exciting time to be living through. It is also became a platform for people to express their individual creativity in a way it was never available in the past.
Is the a tendency with this mass exposure to take everything for granted?
On the contrary, I think it has expanded our horizons and deepened our understanding of everything around us, it has brought the Arts to a global audience who in the past were never able to experience this.
Are you spending a lot of time on Social media?
Yes I do. I’m able to see what other creative people are doing around the world. From a commercial point of view, it has enabled us to reach a vast audience. It has speeding up the process of doing business, daily we can have sales and enquires from any country in the world.
